Bridgestone India Road Safety initiative in Indore

•16,500 people benefitted from this initiative in Indore •The project has covered 10 Schools and 5 colleges

In a major road safety initiative recently concluded in Indore, Bridgestone India reached out to 16500 beneficiaries from 10 Schools and 5 Colleges. The program was designed to create road safety awareness amongst youth and teachers, who are responsioble for shaping better citizens of tomorrow. All beneficiaries were engaged via multiple participation oriented awareness campaigns.

SATARK as this initiative is called is in line with Bridgestone’s global mission of Serving Society with Superior Quality.

“Being a mobility solutions company, we believe it is our responsibility to help create safer journeys for all. Our focus to target the youth in this regard is to inculcate these habits at a young age. Road safety practices, when imbibed as habits, will lead to better and responsible drivers on the road.”- said Mr. Parag Satpute, Managing Director, Bridgestone India.

As part of the program, more than 80 students and teachers along with authorities have been trained to conduct ‘Road Safety Audit’. Three designs of intersection in Indore have been approved by the ‘Indore Traffic Police’ authorities to convert into safer intersection for safe mobility. The valedictory function was conducted in the presence of Smt. Ajana Tiwari, Additional DCP, Traffic, Indore, Shri Anil Patidar, Additional DCP, Traffic, Indore.

Project SATARK started by Bridgestone India in collaboration with TRAX Society in different schools and colleges, has ensured participation of youth on Road Safety through various engagements in Indore. This is a very important issue, and we have given full support during the whole campaign.
