Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 scores top marks in current tyre tests of prestigious German car magazines

Auto Bild, auto motor und sport and firmenauto praise the new premium winter tyre

The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 premium winter tyre prepares drivers and cars well for ice and snow.

Whether it's wet, snow or ice, with the new Bridgestone Blizzak LM005, drivers are ideally equipped for the cold season. The latest winter tyre tests carried out by Auto Bild, auto motor und sport and firmenauto, which praise the LM005 with top marks, confirm this. On top of this Bridgestone was awarded "Manufacturer of the Year" Winter Tyre 2019/20 by Auto Bild for "best braking performance on snowy, dry and wet roads".

Particularly in winter, it is important for drivers to be able to rely on their tyres in all weather conditions - after all, they’re the only part of the vehicle in contact with icy-wet roads. With the new Bridgestone Blizzak LM005, the world’s largest tyre and rubber manufacturer[1], has added another premium tyre to its range that stands for outstanding performance. The Blizzak LM005 was recently rated "exemplary" in the Auto Bild's major winter super test, and in the Auto Bild allrad winter tyre test it was named "winter specialist with balanced good performance at the highest level".[2] Auto Bild allrad gives top marks for traction, braking and handling. The "high resistance to aquaplaning" and the "low rolling resistance" are also highlighted.

Additionally, the magazines auto motor und sport and firmenauto awarded the LM005 with the overall rating "very good" in their 2019 winter tyre test, making it one of the best-rated tyres in the test.[3] auto motor und sport praises the tyre in particular as “very precise on snow-covered and wet roads” and certifies “the shortest braking distance on wet surfaces and snow”. firmenauto also highlights the tyre’s wet performance and rewards it with its highest score. With its low rolling resistance as well as its low tyre and road noise, the LM005 also scores an impressive 9.0 out of 10 possible points in the "environment" assessment, making it one of the two top performers in this category.

"We are very pleased with the positive assessment of the independent experts," says Christian Mühlhäuser, Managing Director Bridgestone Central Europe. "These top ratings once again confirm that we are creating reliable trust with our high-performance premium products. The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 is the result of state-of-the-art tyre development to help drivers reach their destination more safely in all winter conditions".

The Blizzak LM005 is made from Bridgestone's high-silica NanoProTech™ compound, which provides strong performance on snow and wet surfaces. This silica content keeps the tyre soft even in very cold temperatures for maximum traction. The completely redesigned tread pattern with a higher number of lateral grooves in the shoulder area improves both the grip level of the tyre on snow and ice and braking behaviour. Currently the Blizzak LM005 is available in 118 dimensions from 14 to 21 inches. In 2020, 46 additional dimensions will follow and the line-up will be extended to 22 inches.

Excellent alternative for the whole year: Bridgestone Weather Control A005

Bridgestone also offers an excellent tyre for drivers who want to use the same tyres all year round: the Weather Control A005. This all-season tyre has been specially developed for short distance drivers who mainly drive on flat or urban terrain and are looking for a comfortable and safer driving experience, regardless of sun and heat, rain or occasional snowfall. sport auto magazine now confirms this and praises the A005 not only with the overall rating "very good" but also with its "respectable braking performance" as the best tyre for dry and wet braking.[4]

The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 scores "very good" in the current tyre test by sport auto.

The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 comes with the EU tyre label A for wet grip and, depending on the tyre size, the B or C label for rolling resistance. Thanks to its reliable performance on snow, Bridgestone Weather Control A005 also bears the statutory Alpine symbol (mountain pictogram with snowflake), which allows it to be used 365 days a year. With 71 different tyre sizes from 15 to 20 inches, the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 can be fitted to over 90 percent of all passenger cars and SUVs.
