Summary

• The Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyre arriving in time for Easter and the forthcoming bank holidays, is the latest in a long line of cutting-edge, safety-oriented tyres and solutions from Bridgestone.
• With best-in-class wet performance1, superior mileage2, and improved fuel/energy efficiency2, the new Bridgestone Turanza 6 gives drivers ultimate control and safety reassurance.
• Based on extensive research, the new summer touring tyre has been developed to answer the safety and efficiency needs of drivers and to help them overcome the daily driving challenges they face

Bridgestone has gone the extra mile to keep motorists safe this Easter and ahead of the spring & summer bank holidays, with the introduction of its new Bridgestone Turanza 6 product - along with a series of simple tyre maintenance tips.

The Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyre has been designed as the answer to extensive consumer research among drivers to understand what they expect from a summer touring tyre and the daily driving challenges they face.3

With the Turanza 6 and its best-in-class wet performance1, Bridgestone offers drivers exactly what they want – a new premium tyre fulfilling their safety and performance needs even in challenging wet weather conditions while offering superior mileage2 and improved fuel/energy efficiency2.

Engineered for safety and performance

Thanks to proprietary and ground-breaking ENLITEN and TECHSYN technologies, which are both featured for the first time ever on a Bridgestone replacement tyre in the new Bridgestone Turanza 6, drivers get additional efficiency and sustainability benefits such as superior mileage2 and improved fuel/energy efficiency2. This also makes the Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyre EV-ready, helping to optimise electric vehicles’ performance by saving battery life2, while offering excellent control, higher wear tolerance2 and decreased tyre noise for driver comfort4.

Bridgestone Tyre Safety tips ahead of bank holidays

Bridgestone has also issued  seasonal advice to follow ahead of any road trips to see family and friends over the Bank Holiday periods, which is particularly pertinent ahead of long-distance journeys.

1.     Check your tyres:

Each tyre must be in good condition, free from bumps, cuts and bulges. The law states the absolute minimum tread depth is 1.6mm of tread. Failure to comply could result in a fine of up to £2,500 & three penalty points per tyre.

2.     Try the 20p test!

Ideally, tyres should be checked at least once a month.  Insert a 20p coin into the main tyre grooves at several places around the circumference of the tyre and across its width. If the outer band of the 20p coin is visible whenever the treads are checked, they might be illegal and should be checked by a specialist.

3.     Under pressure?

Tyre pressures should be checked against the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended level which can be found in the vehicle handbook and on a plate which is often located inside the fuel filler cap or on the driver’s door sill.

Brett Emerson, Consumer Sales Director, Bridgestone North Region comments: "Life is a journey, and at Bridgestone we’re committed to making it a safe one, which we wanted to highlight ahead of the Easter weekend and forthcoming bank holidays. Driving should be an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone, and Bridgestone is committed to supporting this through its different initiatives and cutting-edge products, like the new Bridgestone Turanza 6, which bring enhanced safety and performance to drivers – enabling them to stay safe and in control, even on wet roads.”

Developed and manufactured in Europe, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is now available across the region in a wide coverage for both passenger cars and on-road SUVs, whether they are internal combustion engine, hybrids or electric vehicles.

Bridgestone’s broader commitment to road safety

According to the World Health Organisation, more than 1.35 million people are killed on the world’s roads every year, and a further 20 to 50 million suffer non-fatal injuries, often life-changing.5 As well as developing premium tyres like the Turanza 6 which prioritise safety as the ultimate goal, Bridgestone is working hard to address road safety issues and to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3.6 target to halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents by 2030.

In support of this goal, Bridgestone undertakes multiple road safety initiatives across the globe, including tyre safety inspections, road safety trainings, education programs and a recent donation of $1 million to the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF). Bridgestone’s commitment to road safety is part of its broader corporate commitment – The Bridgestone E8 Commitment – that defines the value the company is promising to deliver to society, customers, and future generations in eight focus areas.
