Bridgestone’s ‘Inspirational’ headquarters officially reopened by gold-medal ambassadors

Summary
  • Adam Peaty and Charlotte Worthington reopen new-look headquarters
  • Bridgestone’s commitment to sustainable solutions underlined in Warwick
  • Up to 150 back in forward-thinking surroundings

Bridgestone’s Olympic Gold medallists and Bridgestone ambassadors Adam Peaty and Charlotte Worthington have officially reopened the company’s ‘inspirational’ new-look Warwick headquarters, following an extensive refurbishment.

The greatest men's breaststroke swimmer in history and the first ever British woman to win a world medal in Freestyle BMX were guests of honour at Bridgestone’s Tachbrook Park home and welcomed back up to 150 members of staff to the building, which is now one of the most contemporary work spaces the company has ever created.

It is home to the organisation’s sales and back-office support teams and will now house the Webfleet Solutions team, who have now moved out of their previous London location to be even closer to their Bridgestone colleagues.

Not only has space has been custom-designed to offer various options for flexible working in line with the Bridgestone’s smart working philosophy, but it features collaborative open spaces to make it suitable for community groups to visit and learn more about the company. These will include open days for schools and educational placements for university students, who can learn more from a number of professionals across a range of different departments.

Meeting spaces have been fitted with technology to enable seamless and engaging collaboration with hybrid teams from across the world, while a gym, games-room and multi-faith room have also been created in line with a ‘healthy-body, healthy-mind’ approach to working life.

Sustainability and efficiency were two concepts that underpinned the project from concept through to creation, with a number of elements from the previous environment recycled into key features of the new setting. These include glass from old offices being repurposed into vibrant new meeting rooms, while furniture has also been selected with sustainability in mind by re-using existing assets, while opting for local suppliers.

The headquarters is powered by 100% renewable energy, with all heating and air conditioning installed to provide a more efficient and sustainable setting.

Bridgestone’s North Region Vice President Andrea Manenti said: “It was a huge honour to welcome Adam and Charlotte to our offices and officially reopen them for our colleagues.

The investment in our Warwick headquarters is so much more than an office refurbishment, but a commitment to our employees, our partners and the community.

“Bridgestone is evolving into a sustainable solutions company and we created our E8 Commitment to guide us on this long-term journey. Our new office is a living testament to this philosophy, bringing our environmental promises to life.

“It’s an inspirational place to work from and an investment to our staff to provide them with a better connected, more collaborative and inspirational working environment. The investment is also a commitment to the West Midlands and Warwickshire, which has been our home for many years now.

“We are embarking on a new chapter as a business and the county has always been close to our hearts. We support community initiatives here in Warwickshire and a great number of our colleagues are from the local area. We couldn’t envisage being anywhere else. This project reaffirms our commitment to the area, which will be our home for many, many years to come.

“It’s a home to be proud of and we look forward to welcoming our partners to visit in the coming weeks and months.”

Bridgestone’s Warwickshire investment represents a major part of the company’s mission to continue to provide social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company toward 2050. It is the most visual embodiment of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment – a set of eight areas (Energy, Ecology, Efficiency, Extension, Economy, Emotion, Ease, Empowerment) which provide a compass and guides Bridgestone to conduct business in a sustainable way.

The office refurbishment aligns with ‘Emotion - Committed to inspiring excitement and spreading joy to the world of mobility.’
