Firestone Music Tour 2017

Bringing Together Musicians & Music-Lovers

Firestone wraps up its summer music tour on a high note

For the third summer in a row, Firestone, the iconic tyre brand, hit the road to bring music fans and artists together with the Firestone Music Tour. With stops at nine popular European festivals[1], more than 1 million festival attendees and over 30 performances on the Firestone Stage, this year’s tour was a huge success!

Firestone welcomed a full line-up of established and emerging artists, bands and DJs to perform on the Firestone Stage at the festivals. With the Car-aoke Van and other activations, fans came to the Firestone booth to discover new music, enjoy live performances and have fun with their friends. Branded transport, rest areas and festival gifts also ensured great memories for the festival-goers.

The beat goes on

Even though Firestone’s third festival season is wrapping up, it will continue to support emerging talent on their Road to the Main Stage with year-round local initiatives, including a series of talent competitions.

Held in several European countries, Firestone invites the best up-and-coming musical talents to make their voice heard. Selected artists get the opportunity to perform on a local stage in front of a live audience and a professional jury. Music fans have the chance to vote for their favourite talent. The best acts are rewarded with prizes, including recording sessions, professional coaching or even the opportunity to perform on the Firestone Stage at a well-known European festival.

Three bands discovered by Firestone during this year’s spring talent shows performed full sets on the Firestone Stage at: Vantastival (Ireland), Open’er Festival (Poland) and Rock en Seine (France). This autumn, Firestone will continue its search for emerging talent in the U.K and Germany!

Just as its tyres support drivers on the road, Firestone continues to support rising talents on their Road to the Main Stage. Elements 4, a four-person, electro-pop group that won the local competition in France say it best: “thanks to Firestone our dream is coming true! We could never have imagined this competition would bring us so far with a gig on the Firestone Stage at Rock en Seine and a recording session at Warner Music France. Firestone’s support on our musical journey is simply amazing!”

Music is in Firestone’s DNA

Firestone’s connection to music dates back to 1928 when founder Harvey Firestone launched the first sponsored radio programme, the Voice of Firestone, which helped talented musicians to launch their careers. This initiative was a big innovation at that time and today’s Firestone Music Tour and local music initiatives are a continuation of what Firestone began in 1928.

“At Firestone, we remain faithful to Harvey Firestone’s pioneering spirit and honour his legacy in everything we do - from our products to the Firestone Music Tour,” explains Thierry Jupsin, Brands Marketing Director. “For more than a century we have provided drivers with tyres they can count on; In the same way, we want to continue to offer authentic music experiences, to all music-lovers across Europe, by supporting emerging talent.”
