VKVP Haulage turns its wheels to Bridgestone for new fleet partnership

Summary
  • Suffolk based container haulage experts opt for Bridgestone
  • FleetBridge reporting system cited as a key factor in fleet success
  • Bridgestone Partner network to provide rapid breakdown response

A Suffolk haulage company has turned its wheels towards Bridgestone for an all-encompassing commercial fleet partnership, featuring fuel-efficient new products, retread tyre replacements and industry-leading reporting systems.

Felixstowe-based VKVP Haulage has chosen Bridgestone to become its tyre and mobility solutions partner, with all units and trailers being fitted on our range of tyres.

To supplement this choice, its drive and lift axles on trailers will be replaced with Bridgestone retread products, to underline our broad range of solutions.

The franchised network of Bandag dealers forms the cornerstone of Bridgestone’s retread proposition. Each truck tyre features retreading technology built-into the original tyre design, with the life of every tyre maximised through audits, reports and tyre care husbandry.

The Bridgestone Partner dealer network and in-depth reporting systems were also cited as key reasons for VKVP’s decision to work with the tyre giant. In addition, the Bridgestone Partner network was highlighted as a significant asset, along with the FleetBridge reporting system, which offers full transparency on the condition of every tyre fitted to every vehicle.

FleetBridge automates tailor-made workflows between VKVP, Bridgestone Partner dealers and Bridgestone’s own fleet administration, adding convenience and saving time in the tyre management process.

VKVP’s Transport Compliance Manager Tony Willats said the quality of Bridgestone’s tyres was a compelling factor when opting to work with the brand, having had first-hand experience of its products for a number of years.

He said: “I have always had great experiences of Bridgestone from my time as field engineer, as far back as 2001. Since then, their product range has gone from strength-to-strength and so when the time came to embark on a new tyre partnership, Bridgestone was the first name on my mind.

“We already work with a number of the independent commercial tyre dealers who comprise the Bridgestone Partner network too, so we had existing links that we felt would add value to our daily haulage work.”

Bridgestone’s National Fleet Executive Neil Collison said: “We are thrilled to be able to work with VKVP Haulage, who are one of the most prominent and respected container haulage experts in Suffolk.

“We were able to demonstrate that our premium tyre range and line of Bandag retread products offer great longevity, while our breakdown response times via the Bridgestone Partner network were seen as another compelling factor.

“We proved that we can be on hand to support them 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be an extension of their business which will be there for them at all times.

Bridgestone’s VKVP Haulage fleet agreement coincides with its long-term pledge to the environment and sustainability, as seen through its Bridgestone E8 Commitment – the broad, global corporate commitment that clearly defines the value Bridgestone is promising to deliver to society, customers, and future generations in eight focus areas.

The eight focus areas – Energy, Ecology, Efficiency, Extension, Economy, Emotion, Ease and Empowerment – that guide Bridgestone’s strategic priorities, decision-making and actions throughout every area of the business.

This VKVP partnership aligns perfectly with the “Efficiency,” “Energy” and “Economy” values in the E8 philosophy.
